Depression is a profound psychological condition that can manifest itself in a loss of vitality, persistent sadness, feelings of emptiness, intense fatigue, withdrawal from relationships or a loss of meaning. It is not always visible to others and can develop gradually, sometimes following an emotional shock, prolonged stress, exhaustion or difficult relationships.
Contrary to popular belief, depression is not a sign of weakness of character or lack of willpower. It is often rooted in deep psychological mechanisms: emotional overload, inhibition of emotions, loss of inner bearings, and a breakdown in the connection to oneself and one’s body.
The workshop is based on self-study through yoga (Svadhyaya), combined with appropriate physical and breathing practices. This approach aims to gradually restore the connection to oneself, reactivate the ability to feel and create a more stable and vibrant inner space. It is part of a supportive approach, complementary to any medical or therapeutic follow-up.
Workshop objectives
The aim of this workshop is to enable participants to:
- Better understand the psychological and emotional mechanisms associated with depression
- Identify internal patterns of withdrawal, rumination or self-deprecation
- Regain a more conscious connection with the body and sensations
- Calm the mind and nervous system
- Gradually reactivate their zest for life and ability to be present
- Develop concrete resources to prevent relapses or worsening symptoms
The aim is not to force ‘well-being’, but to create the inner conditions that allow for a gradual transformation that respects each person’s pace.

This workshop is aimed at the following audiences:
- People experiencing mild to moderate depression, or feeling a loss of drive, motivation or meaning
- People who have experienced episodes of depression and wish to prevent relapses
